PLS (Plane to Line Switching)
IPS (In-Plane Switching)

I don't think there's a huge difference between the two. At the moment both technologies are still developing, this is just the latest (and from the reviews I've seen, the best) PLS panel so far, aimed at the more professional user.

My first impression is that the quality is staggering. About to calibrate the colours so bear with me!

I have literally just turned it on, if you'd read anything I'd written. Maybe give me a few minutes to start the calibration?

An eye-one display 2. Not 100% sure if it'll work with it though, we'll see.

No No No No! Your doing it wrong, you must calibrate before you turn them on

OK, calibration complete.

This was one of the simplest monitors to calibrate. On previous monitors I've found huge jumps with tiny increments to settings unlike on this one. It was very simple to get the required settings practically spot on the required levels.

Calibration result:

Which compared to my secondary monitor shows the clear difference in colour range.
Secondary monitor:

I immediately noticed the richness of the blues on this forum compared to the other monitor immediately.
