just see if anyone can identify it first :)

I had a 1997 one of these back in the day but it was a 2.5TD Elite.
It was great but had a terribly unreliable BMW M30 diesel engine, everything else was very reliable and ironically germanic.
It even had sat nav before anyone knew what that was!

Carlton 24V would have been even cooler.

carlton 24v would have been ten times the price.

super rare and super expensive now :( and I would have one in a heartbeat.

bit of an update.

its been washed preppred and fired up and ran round the yard. and is a lot more solid than expected considering its been laid up since 2010

certainly worth putting a bit of time and effort into as they are getting rarer and rarer.

My dad had a couple in his company and we both had an epic race in them back in the day of less full roads and no cameras. I was only about 20, it was like dad throwing me the keys to a modern M5 today at 20.

Quite envious to be honest!
Be great to se it after some TLC.

My Dad had one of the 3l V6 Elites for 2 days when I was kid.
His company Vectra needed some work and he was given the choice of ANY model as a courtesy car, so I asked him to get the Omega!

It went quite well as I recall.

Unfortunately I have no mechanical ability so no chance of getting one now :(

Veey simple cars by comparison. Nothing that can't be done at home with a bit of effort and thought.

Cracking cars and deceptively fast. Heavy big buggers though. 130kg heavier than a current Mondeo

not too bad, small patch on the floor 2 new sills and new brake lines/hoses needed along with all fluids and belts.

obviously needs some other cosmetic work but should have a road legal Mig by the middle of next week
