Just got my a MacBook Pro home and all is well except there doesn't appear to be an OSX DVD in the box. Should there be one? There's an iLife DVD but I can't see where the OSX one might be.

It's not as if there is a lot of fluff in the box so can't imagine where it should be...

Should I expect there to be one?

It will be on the general Mac disk that's included, can't remember what it's called, but it won't be labeled 'Mac OSX Snow Leopard' or anything.

You are best posting Mac issues on the Mac forum.

There will be two grey DVDs in the packaging - the reason that you have received a separate branded iLife DVD is that your Mac was made and shipped out to the store or warehouse before iLife '11 came out.

When iLife '11 came out, they will have slit the tape on the box and dropped in an iLife '11 DVD and resealed it.

The grey DVDs should be in a little white box/wallet type thing.

Well unless I have been very silly I don't seem to have the restore disk(s). I will pull the packing apart and double/triple check but I am 99.9% sure it isn't there.

I can see why the loose iLife DVD would throw you off, but as I said they're not usually there, it's just that yours has a drop-in update in the box as it was produced prior to iLife '11. If you look your Mac it'll have iLife '09 installed :)
