Looking to upgrade my 32" samsung tv. The tv i have is very good (Samsung UE32H5000 32-inch Widescreen 1080p Full HD LED TV with Freeview HD) but just fancy something bigger. Did think about getting a projector (used to own one) but its a lot of faffing about connecting it to ceiling..cables and the noise of the fan etc so just going for a 40" tv

I've seen this samsung model going for £350.

Samsung UE40H6400

Its also 3d and i have a 3d bluray player so that could come in handy if i want to get any 3d films.

Does anyone here have this tv? Can they recommend it? Also did you get 3d glasses with it?

I dont imagine there will be anything cheaper than this for this quality even on Black Friday..what do you reckon?

Out of most of the 40" threads people often suggest the model you mentioned, it does seem to be popular and many have it over at avforums and are happy and a decent price also @ 350 so its a good deal.

Black friday can be hit and miss, heard JL and currys websites went offline or had silly queuing systems obviously if you can grab from richer sounds or JL you get that 5 year warranty which is very handy, but obviously if you can wait till end of next month its worth a try I reckon. Keep an eye out on here also:

Samsung sometimes drop it by 50% during promos or holiday deals etc, the model above is the next one up or the 4K version of the one you want, course generally lots of improvements across the board I was unlucky to miss out when it went to £350 2 months ago but during black friday who knows, check other models on there also.

cheers. I think i might hold off then. I got some extra cash from the taxman so was incredibly tempted to splurge it on something straight away. Resisting temptation is so hard.

Yup keep checking pricespy, rainforest and flebay..... actually flebay have some cheaper reconditioned units or ex-display models going at times. And check hotuk deals plenty of TV deals going almost daily.

This. I've seen the unenlightened go to war on black fridays at supermarkets over what were overpriced poor quality tellies, because said supermarket put the price up on a telly they knew no-one would buy prior to BF in one store, then reduce it to its normal price & market said telly in all their stores in order to get the footfall. Oldest sales tactic around.

January Sales you may have a better chance, as stores want to clear their stock ready for that years models.

as others have said HotukDeals, MSE forums are your best bet.

Yeah ive been keeping an eye on those sources ;) But am now wavering towards a projector again haha. Myriad of options available as well - want short throw, 3d, 1080p Optoma, Benq, Epson...then all the models of each.
