New Tv advice wanted

As above currently i have a panasonic vierra 2011 gt30 series active 3d plasma, was a good tv in its time and has served me well as it still is, unfortunately it gives off a load of heat which in the british summer is doin my head in

anyway reason why i am looking for something new, i have recently purchased a western digital wireless pro drive to play stuff from via the tv's media server, which is ideal for me.

most things i have streamed and play fine however today i had two movie samples that played but had no sound, so i tried the files on another drive going through my bluray player and the sound was there, so my novice thoughts are that the tv does not support the decoding of the sound format i also ran the file through a media converter changed the audio output and it played fine via the wd drive, and the tv media server.

tvs software is upto date probably no longer supported

so i am after a new tv and have no idea what to look for in terms of features, do i need to get 4k,oled,qled, hd or what
i do want to be able to watch netflix and use my wd drive to stream stuff to the tv i want something 50-55 inch pref not curved. Money wise i guess i could go 1500 - 2k

any advice please

with regards to lg tvs whats the difference between

c6v
c7v
b7v

i can see the c6v has 3d and is curved where the c7v is flat and no 3d i can see the difference in price, but am not sure what else............
i can see the c7 and b7 are the same price abd to me the same spec

am i missing something
