Hi all,

Well my old faithful TV has finally given up the ghost. Not entirely sure why but it just turned itself off while watching it and won't come back on, no pop just turned itself off. Anyway...

I'm looking to pick up a second hand one off ebay for around £60-£100, either 28" or 32". Is there anything I should be wary of? Also any recommendations? At the moment I'm just looking for the basics, 100hz etc.

Cheers :)

Check the obvious things first.

Fuses.

There will be one in the plug, and one internal one too.

There are dangerous amounts of voltage inside of a TV though so be very careful. Usually a good idea to leave it plugged into a switched off socket for a day or two to allow the capacitors to discharge.

I woulnd't be too suprised if it was just the internal fuse.

If not then look out for a Panasonic TX28PS12C or TX32PS12C. Excellent sets.
