Just bought a Sony 32" to wall mount in the kutchen. I've got a Pi 2 as well so I can connect it to my XBMC media library.

The TV has a Sat tuner and I'm 90% sure I have a spare LMB on my dish. Is it worth paying the £11.25 to Sky for multiroom? Or should I just use Freesat on it?

I bought the TV to put random stuff on in the kitchen when I'm cooking etc.

As for wall mounting a Sky multiroom box, any decent options that work on new build walls? The Pi 2 should be able to rest on the wall mount.

Cheers.

Apart from a couple of channel differences Freesat is very much like Freeview. It has pretty much the same channel list. If you live somewhere that gets lousy or limited Freeview then Freesat gives you an alternative. But if your Freeview is decent then there's not much in it at all.

Whether Sky multiroom is worth the extra £11/month (and mounting the box and running cable) is only really a question you can answer. Do you think it's worth it?

If I can mirror what's on the other Sky box decently and wireless then that is of interest. I only want it in there for when the football is on and I'm cooking dinner or doing chores. I don't think my house has an aerial, and if it has, there's no easy points in the kitchen to plug into.

If you have a pi set up could you not use sky go to stream the sports? (or is it windows only)

In old place I ran a HDMI run from the lounge to the kitchen so I can mirror everything. In new place we have setup multiroom in the kitchen. Mirror would have worked fine in new place but as it is larger was easier to run another Sky COAX

That's what I thought. Is there a Sky Go video source for Kodi? Or something that I can install that will AirPlay.

I may just bite the bullet and get multiroom. I've been paying for SWTOR but haven't played it since March ish, so that kinda covers the cost.
