Hi there

A few weeks ago I got a new Samsung-UE40F6400 Smart TV. All good however have a slight issue I hope somebody can help with.

I have linked up my PC using the Samsung Link software so I can watch my downloaded movies and tv programs wirelessly from my PC to on the TV.

Mostly this works fine with smallish files (around 1GB) however as soon as I try to watch larger (4+GB) Blue ray films it freezes and I get the loading message, then it starts again and it happens a few minutes later.

Any help/suggestions would be great.

PS they are mostly mkv format and the router is in the same room as the TV.

Is your PC connected via wi-fi also? It's likely that the wi-fi is the issue either between the PC and router and/or the TV and the router.

Thanks guys

The router/PC is hard wired and I am using the onboard ethernet connection on the Asus Impact Z87 mobo I have not tried using a USB but I will, at least that will tell me if there is an issue with the wireless.

The router is a Netgear DG834N 270 Mbps if that help any.

Hmmm, I can't find any specs on the Samsung TV that mention the speed of its wireless card. As you've plugged the PC into the router, i'm guessing these ports are only capable of 100mbps at max utilisation. To stream 720p only requires bandwidth of around 5-8mbps, which should mean your router is more than capable.

PlayStation Media Server.

quite frankly if plex did some subtitles I would have no reason to ever use it, but it just works pretty well and is lightweight on your machine

plex should do subtitles. any it doesn't understand should just get burned into the video itself as it's transcoded/streamed
