Old TV has finally died so after so need something shiny!

Due to space constraints, can't be any bigger than 50" With a budget of around £1000, which models should i be looking at? Last TV was a plasma which ended up with pretty bad screen burn. Ideally i'd like something that really doesn't suffer from image retention/screen burn issues so definitely not oled but i believe those are 55" and larger anyway!

Thanks

Thanks :) That one was top of my list so far. How bad is android on it? I heard it's a bit clunky. Also i appear to have missed the boat on that one. There don't appear to be any decent deals on it anymore. Is this one equally good? https://www.richersounds.com/sony-bravia-kd49xg8305bu.html

no it won't be FALD.

XG90 but it will be far more expensive. as they just launched.

you could always try and pick up a second hand XE90 or XF90 or worst comes to worse another plasma. i just sold my 50" GT50 for £100 to work colleague.

Thanks. I did find an XF90 but it's in Norwich but they can't deliver. 300 mile trip was considered but i thought better of it!!

I have a half decent 37" backup so will hang on and wait for the new sony to drop in price.

the B8 55" is around £1100 now. IMO that is a very good price for what one of the top tv's ever made?

only the C9 is the one to buy above it and that is £2500 for 55" so you can see how good value the B8 is at £1100ish.

Unfortunately, as i stated in the OP, i can't have anything bigger than a 50" screen with thin bezels. That just about squeezes in the wall space i have.

unfortunate then. i just replaced my 50" plasma with a 55" tv and they both just fit into the same space. the 50" had like 1-2 cm either side of it but luckily the bezels were about 2cm either side too.

modern tv's are very slim and thats even comapring with my modern plasma which was only 6 years old or so. it's 123cm wide for the 55" b8.

the only option then is to wait really or look at what FALD sets samsung are offering in the 50" size

Aye. I have a 42" old plasma in that space now. That thing has huge bezels. Measuring up, 50" is the absolute biggest i can get in there unfortunately. I'll hang on and wait for the xg90 to drop. Not in any massive rush :)
