Hey All,

Apologies for what is most likely a repeat question. Currently have a Samsung LED 37" tv which is about 3 or 4 years old and I'm going to give it to my parents as they want a new TV but are struggling to afford one (both retired).

So I'v been looking at a 4k Telly, mid-range. It's going to used primarily for games (PS4, xbox one) and PC games (Killing Floor 2, counter-strike) along with my freeview HD box.

48" is probably all the room I have for a TV so I'v been looking at a couple (Samsung 7500T) and a 49" and a 43" LG UF770V. I've seen some positive reviews but comments on the 4k upscaling engine...particularly on the LG.

I was hoping for some advice! I have a budget of around £1200.

I have a sonos sound bar and sub which will connect to it so looking for a TV to complete the setup really.

I have been eyeing up a tv for a while now. I am going to get the 55 inch version of this one. Very good reviews.

I've just bought the LG 55UF770V and am really happy with it. Nice picture whether SD, HD or UHD, decent sound from the TV itself, very slick menus and Smart TV features etc. The Smart TV features using WebOS 2 have been implemented really well on these sets. It's very quick and easy to navigate. Unlike some other brnds, it's integrated seamlessly. Switching from built it, to Sky, to Youtube for example, is pretty much just like changing channel.

The implementation of the "magic remote" is also very good, and to boot, you get a phone app too :)

Happy with this set.

You can pickup a Samsung 48JS9000 for slightly more than your budget if you can stretch. (£1229).

22ms input lag in game mode. I have the 65 version and it's great for gaming. It's also an awesome set all round, gets very good reviews across the board.

It is curved mind, whether that floats your boat or not.

I have ordered a samsung js8500 55. Initially i was against curved screens but is quite subtle so i don't mind it. Also the 10 bit panel and HDR made the decision easier. I would have got the 9000 but i dont like the silver bezel and its out of my price range.
