Still got last years track tyres on my Brutale 990r which did 3 days on track (loads of tread left in the middle!) and I have had enough of pussy footing around on the cold wet roads. I have a nice shiny new set of Dunlop D211 GP Racer NTECs for the R1 that are way better than I am on track and the Brutale wont be on track this year again so I want a more road biased sports tyre for the Brutale that also does good in the wet ..

What do you guys reckon I should short-list?

My current faves are Pirelli Diablo rosso 2. Can't fault them. Got around 3,000 out of a set which included 2 trackdays. Did get em to slide on the track but only when pushed, even then they nice and predictably. On the road I can't fault them at all, warm up very quick and are decent in crappy conditions as well.

Currently running Dunlop Sportsmarts, they have been brilliant in all conditions, take a while to warm up in the freezing conditions but nothing an experienced rider cant handle.

But if you already have a track bike I would go with something like the Roadsmart 2's

I use Pilot Powers, they've done me fine so far in both the cold and rain, although they're the only tyres I've had on the sv so far so can't really compare them to others fairly.

Checked out the Roadsmart 2s and they look to be what I am after ... good call, thanks guys.

Those racetec interacts I have fitted don't quite fill me with confidence on the daily commute specially through winter! That bike was fun on track but bloody hard work at 150 mph ... will leave that duty to the R1 from now on.
