Hello guys I need new tyres for my vw passat b6 estate as my last pair of bridgestone T001 205/55/r16 only did just over 10.2k miles over last 12 months. I drive mainly on rural area/motorway/city 30%/40%/30%. Any recommendations on new tyres as I only got 2mm of thread so they need to be replaced soon. I was surprised as I drive gently to not only save on fuel but tyres too so it is a bit of a shock to see tyres gone after a year. Further, I had Goodyear tyres on my corsa back in 2015 and these lasted me 14k and still had 3mm to go but then I sold the car in 2016.)

Any recommendations and advice will be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

I have Michelin Pilot Sport 4 in that size. Not had them on long but they're pretty grippy. Michelins are supposedly pretty good for wear too which is why I went for them over cheaper options.

Thank you for your replies guys

Thank you for this. How many miles did you drive on them and what's their current thread measure?

How often do you check tyre pressures? When was the last time the car alignment was checked? Do the current tyres show signs of even wear across the tread?

I did tracking (wheel aliment) last year before I replaced the tyres. They had a machine that showed values (xyz I belive (3per wheel)) from which both wheels had one out of specs so they adjusted and fitted new tyres. When it comes to checking tyres I check it every 2-3 weeks and as per vw recommendation I pump them up to 2.4 bar when I drive alone and appropriately when travelling with my family on holidays. Air seems to hold well in front tyres as when checking it is only slightly below 2.4 bar value which can be due to unplugging the valve after pumping it up (I use vw pump that came with my car) ?. The tyre is slightly more worn to the outside of the wheel but nothing major.
