New up grades?

hey i've i'm building a pc for my mate i've got £400 to spend on:

Case
Motherbaord
CPU
Graphics
Power Supply

He's already got GeIL 2GB (2x1GB) PC6400C4 800MHz Ultra Low Latency DDR2 Dual Channel Kit. He has 4GB!

Could someone please send a spec in?

Hi Harv,

Heres what i would buy with £400.

Firstly £400 isnt a lot, whith an extra £40 your firend could get a 8800gts, but then someone would have to confirm if that would fit in the case.

The cpu will clock to 3.0ghz plus in most cases, paired up with the noctua for excellent cooling.

The Corsair is an excellent psu, rock solid and very reliable.

The case is just pure quality.

I have no experience with the GFX card but has better stats than the 1950xt so thats why i chose it.

Anyone confirm its better than the 1950XT?

If your firend isn't going to overclock then we may have to re-think it.

In most cases the HD2600XT is slower than the X1950XT.

To be honest, I'd drop the aftermarket cooler, and get the 8800GTS. My e2140 can do 3.375GHz on the stock cooler at very acceptable temps
