Hello, My name is Hobson
I just wanted some advice on the new build. Below are pictures of my current setup and my current PC.
Now just before i start i want to say that the 980 Ti is not actually mine, i have a friend in UAE he ordered the card from UK and had it shipped to my place. He is on holiday so i am just holding it for him. He asked me to test it so i wacked it in my system and will probably post it on monday. My current gpu is a GTX 950 which can be seen sitting to the left of the Macbook air.
Onto the build help, i am basically looking to build something like jayztwocents built with his skunkworks. I am in awe with such a build and it is what i have decided to do. I had a loop before but i removed it sometime last year. Link Below:

Other than one of the 780Ti's I still have many of the parts like the pump res etc etc that i will use for the new build.
Now my questions are about the new build, sorry for rambling above but some of it was needed. As i said i have one gtx 950 but i need to change that. Now i am not sure if i can get 1080's in SLI (might be out of budget). I will try my best but if not i wanted to know if it would be worth getting either 2x gtx 980Ti's or 3x gtx 970's.
gtx 980Ti - I can probably get a pair for £350 each from now until i get my case. That is 700£ for 2
gtx 970 - I can grab 3 for around 600£ total
gtx 1080 - I am looking at around 1,359.98 for a pair of classy or 1,319.98 for a pair of strix cards. These two cards are the 1080 versions that i am after.
Now if i do decide to go for the 970's i will save throughout the year for the next editions of the Ti (1180Ti), i may do the same even if i go for a pair of 980Ti's. If i go for the 1080's i will stick with them for atleast 2 years.
I also want to change the motherboard to either the x99 strix or the rampage V edition 10 , what do you guys think. I really want that USB C. I will probably wait for the new motherboards to release and watch some reviews before deciding. I put an order for the sma8 which will arrive after 2 months or so but i am sooooo excited about this build i just need early advice. I will get some of the funds from selling some components within this PC, like the motherboard, H110 GTX and the 780t case.
New Build:
Case: Caselabs sma8
Motherboard: TBD
CPU: Intel 5930K Hex-Core
RAM: 16gb Corsair LPX DDR4
SSD 1: V-Nand SSD 950 Pro 512gb
SSD 2: 960GB SanDisk Ultra II SSD
SSD 3: 960GB SanDisk Ultra II SSD
PSU: EVGA SuperNova P2 1000w
Sorry if you think i have been rambling on and on, it is what i do XD. I will change one of the monitors on the left with the batman wallpaper to either a 27inch 4k screen or a 1440p screen early next year.
Thanks for reading hobz
