New upgrade/build - comments appreciated

Thinking of upgrading my 3 year old system to the following. Aim is to get a super stable and quiet system with plenty of power incl for games.

Nzxt phantom 410 case (with extra noise insulation by ocuk)
Asus p8z77-v mobo
I7 3770k processor (probably overkill)
H60 corsair water cooler
Samsung 840 pro 256gb sdd
Old 1gb harddrive for data
2x8gb patriot Intel extrême ram
Ocz 750w Psu (from old rig)
Gtx 570 phantom gfx card (from old rig) - to be upgraded in 6-12 m time

At thoughts on this?

Is this just for gaming? If so there is no point in using the i7 over the i5 as the only dif is hyperthreading which games dont support.

I would also go for a gigabyte motherboard for the Dual BIOS and UK RMA.
