Hi Chaps... my first post here for ages! (been a member since 2002 as well)...

I`m loving some of the stuff on ocuk ! Anyway here is my new computer spec that I have compiled... any advice would be grateful... Remember I don't play many games at all... Computer is mainly used for high end photography / photoshop work really... the ones with an X in front below seem to be what peeps recommend at the moment ?

OPERATING SYSTEM
Windows 7. I know not out until late Summer.

X Antec P183, because its quiet, well designed and looks the part. 113.99
or

Hi, looks good
from your choices Id go with the P series case as it will be quieter, and assuming youre not adding a 2nd gfx card due to the lack of gaming heat isnt a massive issue so Id go with this case
HDD choices look good, its your call on if you splash out on the SSD or just stick to the raptor
mobo's all look good, personally Id go for the UD5
RAM again both good, Id go for the Viper as its cheaper and would also aesthetically match the UD5 (not really important but hey) - the only issues with sticking 12gig in is it reduces your OC as your system is already working harder due to the extra load form the RAM, also do you NEED 12 gig? think only thing you need that much for is running virtual machines
PSU Id lean towards the BeQuiet as its modular so makes cable management easier, you could go for a HX Corsair but imo the BeQuiets are better anyway, comparable quality, newer so a bit more efficient and a little quieter
Dont forget to add a decent aftermarket cooler, if youre sticking along the lines of quiet then either something like a scythe or a TRUE + noctua
Enjoy

Thanks for the replies so far...

You mention coolers, I have a couple in my spec above, namely...
Akasa AK-967 Nero 23.99
or
Thermalright 120 Extreme 1366 49.44

The scythe I assume is not air cooled e.g. does not come with a fan ?

going to go with the ocz vertex 60gig as a boot drive now, i have plenty of space left on my boot drive, even with all my applications etc, as I keep my documents etc on another drive.
