It's xmas :D

The wife has given me permission to upgrade. :D
The credit card company have given me 9 months interst free so I'm looking to do an upgrade. :D

Having already taken some advice on the forum have put together the shopping list below, comments/views appreciated

EVGA GeForce 8800 GTS 640MB GDDR3 HDTV/Dual DVI (PCI-Express) - Reason - 10 year Guarantee and upgrade policy

Intel Core 2 DUO E6600 "LGA775 Conroe" 2.40GHz (1066FSB) - Was going to by the retail version, am I better getting OEM and getting a different cooler, if so which one?

OcUK 2GB (2x1GB) PC2-6400 800MHz DDR2 Dual Channel Kit - Is there any point getting more expensive memory?

Gigabyte GA_965P_DS4 (Socket 775) PCI-Express DDR2 Motherboard - Looks like a decent board with good reviews

I can spend a small amount more, but don't want to go to mad. Main uses for the PC is games, e.g. FS X, Total War 2, Company of Heroes. Running mainly at 1280*1024.

Don't normally overclock but may do with this set up based on comments I've read about the Conroes

Rest of PC will stay as spec in sig. Though may later in year move to a 24" BenQ monitor if money will allow.

Ok, guys, let me have your views

Cheers

Cheers Lolcb,

Trouble is the chances of getting a 24" monitor are slim to begin with and if I spend another £100+ on the gfx card it'll be even slimmer, also the 24" monitors resolution i don't think would justify an 8800gtx.

Cheers
