OK so a few months back I had asked some of you guys to spec me a new build, With Christmas only a few weeks around the corner I think its time for my up grade to happen.

So I already have a Graphics card, PSU, HDD, SSD, 8GB RAM, DVD Drives and a HAF X Case.

I have to have a budget of £450-£460. I cannot go over £465

So bearing this in mind I have gone for :-

Look how cheap that motherboard is... If only the team could spell Christmas Right :)

On a better chipset, and £60 for the pub.

Dumb question, I should know the answer but I don't, Can you use dual channel RAM in that board ?

Also consider that the next generation of consoles have less power then your machine will.

And most games are console ports... this should last 3 years. Probably.

I believe the 3570K will be more than enough, especially overclocked past 4.2Ghz. Put the saved money towards a SSD/GFX next year.

I already have an SSD and a nice GFX card, So I will still be going I7.

A computer that has 1 gig ram, no GFX card and a Pentium 4 CPU is more power full than a console so why even bring it up ? Also the computer that I am building will last way more than 3 years

In your original post you've asked for suggestions and that is our suggestion. The i7 will not offer any significant performance given your usage (essentially just a waste) and the money saved will be better put towards a future upgrade. If you've got the disposal income and don't care it it will be more or less wasted, then go for it.

I apologize if that last post came across like I was a tool. I understand where you are coming from I think I need to really think a bit more on this upgrade
