hi guys,
i've just upgraded my mobo, processor and ram. I went from an old AMD based system to a new i5, MSI Z87-G45 and some ripjaws
i've kept my old pair of HD5770's, i had them set up in xfire quite happily in my old rig...having put the system back together I'm having issues;
both the fans on both the cards are spinning, the HDMI lead im using only gets a picture when connected to the card in PCIE slot 4 (the second PCIE 3 slot) however in catalyst control centre im not seeing any of the old xfire options that i used to have before the upgrade, theres no mention of it in the options where i used to be able to switch it on or off, the option to pick the game out of the application profiles list when configuring the graphics options for an specific game is also missing and theres no sign of it in the device manager
i'm confused as to why i'd only be getting a picture through the PCIE 4 slot card's HDMI if xfire isnt working, in the primary adapter info on CCC it also says that the 'maximum bus setting is PCIE x8' which is even more confusing to me as if only 1 card is running it should be x16 and x8 x8 if running two?!
in short...i dont have a flippin clue, sorry to ramble on, i dont know a great deal about PC building and wanted to make sure I got everything i thought might be relevant into this post.
