very strange indeed. got a new Razer Lachesis today, plugged it in, installed the drivers, it prompted a reboot.
Rebooted and the screen shows the cpu type, but will go no further. i unplugged the mouse, it instantly moved on to boot.
plugged it back in again, it stopped booting!!
any ideas?

If had USB mem sticks which do this too. Make sure 'boot other device' is turned off in the bios. That might work. (Unless you need it).

i have just disabled the boot from removable device which covers floppy disks etc also, but the same thing occurred. it doesnt even get to the memory test before hanging?!?
strange indeed!

Try different usb port. My digital camera and mp3 player do the same thing when i use one of the usb on the side of my case.

in the asus bios,, i cant see any specific boot from usb setting... inly the boot from removable device.
i have triead all 7 usb ports and unfortunately have the same outcome.
is anyone else using the NF4 chipset and having difficulties with this?

i had a problem with my pc hanging on bootup with my n52 plugged in after i did a bios update on p5ne sli

they fixed it in the next bios update, apparently was an issue with razor mice
luckily the fix worked with my nostromo n52 aswell, maybe its the same issue with your board

my older pc used to do this if my printer was connected when i booted it up. not matter what i tried i couldn't get round it, other than making sure the printer wasn't connected.
