Hi, Finally managed to put my new system together after receiving a spec in this thread http://forums.overclockers.co.uk/showthread.php?p=18493044#post18493044.

Everything appears to have gone correctly and the new system booted first time, this is my first build sop i could have missed something, But i seem to be having problems with a new mouse i ordered.

http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=KB-007-BZ That is the mouse i ordered but when i plug it in the mouse is just jumping all over my monitor, i have tried all the available usb ports and it did work for a few hours eventually...But this morning it is back to the same state.

Any advice? Could it be a faulty mouse? Thanks

Tried a different mouse surface?

A little story here, I did a build for my young Niece, and my Sister bought a cheap "TRUST" mouse for it(keyboard was given by my Brother and is a nice Logitech) the TRUST mouse lasted less than 3hrs use, before it stopped working, so I went back to a shop and got a £15 Logitech mouse that is so much nicer and tracks properly across any surface.

Moral of the story - Cheap stuff sucks.

Thanks for the reply. I have tried lots of different surfaces for the mouse but it is all the same. I know that i should have spent a little more money but surely a brand new mouse should work for a little while before packing in?

That said, Logitech's S96 is what I use on my Windows and Linux boxes. It's PS/2 and I'm of the opinion if the ports there, might as well use it. And I'm not into mice at all really so was buying cheap. But the two S96's I've had have been flawless. And when I got them from OCuK they were a fiver (£8 now).

I didn't recieve any driver software with the mouse. The first time i plugged it into each usb port it came up saying "installing device software". Were the drivers installed in the mouse?

The lens is dust free from what i can see. Its strange as it did eventually work for a few hours last night, but when i turned it back on this morning the problems have returned.

That's Logitech for you.

Can you try it on another computer?

If it does the same on another pc, rma it and get a Logitech.

Not at the minute, but i will be able to later tonight when my friend returns from work. Thanks for the help everyone.

One more question please while i have this thread open, i was told by a friend that after building my rig that i should run 3dmark on it to test it. The only problem is i dont really understand what it is telling me.lol.

http://3dmark.com/3dm11/685785 this is my result if someone could take a look.

Anyone able to help regarding the 3dmark score? My graphics card appears to have a different driver..is this correct? Any other tests i could do to check the system?
