I'm wanting to get a new modem/router and have been looking at the Linksys EA6900 and the Netgear R7000 as they seem to be among the most highly regarded in terms of speed, reliability and wireless performance.

Is there any discernible difference between these two models or are there any other models I should be considering?

My internet connection is a 76MB line with Plusnet and the main reason for wanting a solid wireless performance is to stream video content from my NAS to various wireless devices (phones & tablets etc) - I've not got any "ac" wireless devices yet but it seems to be a degree of "future-proofing"!

Thanks for any input guys....

*edit*

I've just realised that I don't know whether either of these models include an integrated modem!?!? It looks to me as though the Netgear one does have an internal modem but the Linksys one needs to be the "XAC1900" model - can anyone confirm?

Hmmm, just seen you can pick up the Asus DSL-AC68U for £110 whereas the Netgear D7000 is another £40 so the question is, is the Netgear worth the extra 40 notes??

Most reviews I've read seem to put the two pretty much neck and neck!

Do your self a favour and steer clear of the Asus the modem on it is junk, check out the thread in this section with the majority of peoples connections it does not work well. The D7000 for me and the majority is rock solid though.
