Well just checked daemon-tools.cc and they've released a new version which actually installs and runs on Windows Vista x86. They say its fixed to run on x64 version but as I only have the x86 version installed I cannot say.

/Edit: Its still the old version, but they've updated the scsi virtual drive bit to actually install now.

This program will install SCSI Pass Through Direct (SPTD) layer on your computer. WARNING - SPTD is not compatible with the kernal mode debuggers (SoftICE, WinDBG, etc)! Please cancel setup if you plan to use kernal debugger on this machine

Can anybody explain a little bit about that to a n00b? This is the first time I'm using Daemon Tools.

TBH if you (like me) dont know what it is then its safe to say that I wouldnt worry about it. :)

debuggers are used for programming etc etc.

Thought I was going mad the other day after half a dozen reboots and it still not installing :/

Hmmm...I just downloaded it, installed it and away it went quite happily... Have you got any previous versions installed or tried to install a previous version?
