New version of iTunes

Within reason? :p

Apple is actively working with Microsoft to resolve a few remaining known issues, including:

* Ejecting an iPod from Windows Explorer or the Windows notification area (system tray) using the "Safely Remove Hardware" feature may corrupt your iPod. To always safely eject an iPod, choose Eject iPod from the Controls menu within iTunes. If your iPod becomes corrupt, selecting your iPod in iTunes and clicking Restore in the iPod's Summary panel should return your iPod to a working condition.
* iTunes may display text or graphics incorrectly on your screen. Resizing the iTunes window should correct this issue.
* Contacts from Windows Address Book may not sync with iPod.
* iTunes remains unsupported on 64 bit editions of Windows, including Windows Vista and Windows XP x64.

;)

It did that in XP too.

works fine with my x64 vista expect for when you sync a song and then try to sync something else the iPod fails to reconnect with the pc and fails.

my god this has taken apple along time, do companies such as nvidia, aplle etc not get to try vista b4 all of us customers get it? cos if they did y didnt they sort out their programs b4 vista came out :(

coverflow performance hasn't increased in vista :(

You use the greatest gimmick of them all? :o

I'll go as far as downloading the new firmware for my iPod, but I'll only use it once or twice. :)

Why is the default install location for Quicktime now in Program Files/VistaCodecPack ???

Because it contains codecs?

I can't even get quicktime to work. :/ Buffer over run... :(

Im annoyed that 4 iTunes releases later i still cant play videos in it smoothly/without system slowdown.
I must have a few hundred hours of video now waiting to be played. :(

A new version of itunes appeared for download today. Ive installed it but have yet to notice any improvements, coverflow still lags :( anyone else seen any impovements?

EDIT: Actually i think the coverflow has sped up a touch.

I've downloaded and installed the new 7.1.1.5 and it's a lot better and all my ipod shuffle issues have been resolved. Just tempted to get a full blown 30GB refirbed Ipod with a pair of decent headphones.

I anyone else running the latest iTunes with Kaspersky on XP or Vista? On both my Vista and XP machines I cannot connect to the iTunes store, receiving a 9812 error. I've tried everything in the Microsoft Kb article but to no effect :(

I got that occasioanly, a restart of iTunes would be a temp fix.

I've stopped using it for anything but syncing my iPod now anyway, the lock ups 10 seconds into songs were getting stupidly annoying.

I get it every time and on both computers  The only thing they have in common is they both use Kaspersky, so I have a feeling it's something to do with that.
