Hi Guys,

I am planning to get a new video card and thinking of getting GTX 970 as money and performance wise there is nothing else that can really beat it? (Am I correct?)

Could you please suggest which GTX 970 Should I get? I've heard that MSI are very good but now really sure whether that's the best option?

Otherwise if you think that there is anything better than GTX 970 within that price range then would like to hear your suggestions.

My Current setup is
CPU is I7 3770K
16GB RAM
GTX 560Ti (I want to upgrade from this as I'm a fan of Assasin's Creed and it just won't play play the Assasin's Creed Unity :( )
XFX 650w PSU

Hope to hear your suggestions soon :)

You could go 290/290x but your psu may not be quite there. The 970 is probably best.

Or maybe the 780/770 that are floating about? They are about £250 I think. I would post
Them but I'm on my iPad.

I had no problems running unity on my 290x on ultra solid 60fps at 1080p.

There's also the 290X

Has similar performance albeit hotter and possibly louder and hasn't got the vRAM problems, though at 1080p you shouldn't notice this

What res are you playing at?
Not sure if AC:Unity plays better on nvidia atm however, may be something to look into?

Thanks for AMD suggestions however I've never been a fan of it at all.
Know how people usually split into two groups of RADEON + AMD and NVIDIA + INTEL? :)
I'm surely Intel + Nvidia fan.
Please let's not start debate whether NVIDIA is better than RADEON or vice versa :)

P.S. If I can I tend to play on 1920 x 1080 if not then 1600 x 900 or 1440 x 900

Why 780Ti?
Not sure if I'm right or wrong but as far as I remember 780Ti uses Kepler architecture while 970 uses Maxwell architecture which is newer and better? Is this wrong assumption?

Could you please explain why do you think that 780Ti would be better (It's only £20 difference in price so might as well get newer chip?)
