A couple of months ago I attended a small photo shoot at a new venue in Purfleet, Essex that's on the site of High House Production Park, where the new Royal Opera House workshop is located. The video shows off the venue, aspects of the shoot and the photographers' pictures.

Anyway, check out the link below to stream it;

Not a fan of the handheld look personally. Not sure if that was intentional or you just didn't have a tripod.

This +1.

Could have used various tool such as a steadycam or even a Glidecam when making movie video. I know they are expensive but hiring wouldb't be too bad but there are also plenty of DIY sites how to make one.

Thanks for the comments, it was a bit of an impromptu shoot and unfortunately I only had the camcorder to hand. I think the hand held look sort of works though personally as the venue has a clash of old and modern styles especially being located next to the huge aircraft hanger like workshop.

I have to make a change to the end credits so I am going to re-time the slideshow at the end and sync it to the beat now I have a bit more time to play with.

If anyone has any other critique regarding the editing side of things please let me know!

Personally I found it a bit disjointed; the difference between the actual shoot and all the shots outside is quite jarring. I was also confused somewhat because there are a lot of exterior shots which don't seem to correlate with the barn where the shoot was taking place inside and outside... I think perhaps you explained that all that was there in your post, but it's not so clear from the video.

On the more technical side of things....

Pans and Zooms are pretty tired these days, which is one of the reasons I think your video looks so different between the outdoor shots and the actual shoot.
If anything for those exterior beauty shots, I'd go with a static camera and probably blow the focus out and bring it up, which is pretty common for such videos these days.

One of the outdoor shots is horribly underexposed, the blacks are so crushed you struggle to see it.

A number of the cuts, especially during the outdoor part of the shoot are far too quick. If you are going to cut things quickly, the clips need to be a similar timing.

Is this a professional paid project?
If so, I'd be a bit wary about the music copyright if you don't have the rights to use it.

The photography was essentially paid for, the video was just tacked on as a kind of B-Roll to the photo shoot, as I said I literally grabbed the camera that morning and shot it. Colour does need tweaking on a few shots, I'll correct this when I sort out the credits.

I plan on going back with a glidecam or something similar for the proper promo.
