New Vista Install I/O error??

The Instruction at 0x760b6a92 referenced memory at 0x760b6a92. The required data was not placed into memory becuase of an I/O error status of 0xc0000185

Click on OK to terminate the program

Its a mates PC I have only installed Vista

AMD 3400 2GB memory 250GB sata drive. No external devices connected..

Please help ?

have a look in the event viewer it should give you more information as to the problem.

From what you have posted it looks like there is a memory error try running MEMtest advanced/thorougher test overnight and see what that says.

none of the above.. I'm puttin XP back on it.. it goes through the installs with no issues ??????

although saying that it just said it cant copy an XP File .. got I hate PCs

try 64 bit vista now.. dunno why

Its working ok... installed Vista 64 with all Chipset drivers and then graphics drivers and it seems to be ok now...

Any idea why ??
