hey guys, i asked for advice recently and am as usual impressed by the speed of response. now i have a new request, could someone either talk me through or point me in the direction of a step by step guide to setting up a water cooling system, as in how do i bleed the system? do i test it externally before installing, is there anything to look out for? etc etc

much appreciated Mippie

Yip test it externally if possible, just incase one of the brand-new components leaks.

Fill it by filling up the res as far as you can, then quickly starting and stopping the pump. Top up the res again and repeat until the loop is full. Don't let the pump run for anything more than a split second on a half-empty loop.

Bleeding is usually pretty simply. You can usually just run the system with the top off the res (if you're using one and the pump isn't powerful enough to force the water out the open top) and the trapped air will work its way out after a few hours. Giving the radiator a shake and/or tilting the case also helps to get any trapped air out of it. Top up the res as the water level drops as the air escapes.

there are some installations on yotube although I haven't seen them to say whether they are any good. It's mostly intuitive really.
