new website, how do i see visitor stats etc?

Hi, just had a web page made and hosted.

How do I see (do not even know the terminology of this) visits, etc?

Best thing to do is to setup google analytics and put the code in your website header/footer, its a darn site more accurate and useful than the crud thats often included for free with most popular web panels.

If you don't fancy Google (although it is the one you should use) statcounter.com which is free

You *can* also use the stats built into cpanel but they're not as good.

Don't have a website, but what can I use to monitor if images are being linked by others? E.g. sig files, etc.

Your host provider should have a web stats section with all the info.
