Hi guys,

I'm about to setup a new website for a local sports club and I need recommendations for hosting providers :)

When I was at Uni Streamline.net were pretty good and reasonably priced, they let you pay anually/bi-anually and they were very reliable! I want more or less the same now and my only real requirements are .php support and mysql.

Who should I be looking at? Something based in the UK would be a bonus :D

Thanks!

Vidahost or TSOHost will be the ones most highly recommended. You could also take a look at QiQ. I think bledd uses them. I'm with Vidahost myself. :) I can't fault them. They are very professional and my account was set up very quick. However they can't work too hard because they reply to my emails rather quickly. ;)

TSOHost, I eventually went with them after much research, they really are great for customer service and my website is blisteringly fast with them!

Thanks guys! tsohost do seem to be exactly what I'm after - their advertised prices include VAT as well, always like that ;)

Cheers!

Personally I use unlimitedwebhosting.co.uk and they are fantastic!

I run multiple sites on my account, a wordpress blog, Joomla website for a local youth club a small web page and a PHP web application and it runs nice and fast. Their support is the best I have ever seen - They reply to tickets any time of day and night the majority of times within 5 mins - I even had a reply in under a minuite!

You can also set up as many email accounts as you want on your domains so if you had a site at example.com, you could create bob[AT]example.com, admin[AT]example.com .etc. You can access these though a web interface, through POP or tell them to redirect mail to another address.

They offer the Plesk control panel and allow unlimited disk space, bandwidth, databases and domains so you can host as many sites as you want on your one account. It costs £2.75 (£3.30 incl VAT) a month and that price includes one .co.uk or .com domain and you can point additional domains from an external domain host such as GoDaddy.

Have a look at Tagadab. I have used them in the past and they are spot on. Support is fast and they are always glad to help out if you get into trouble..

Vidahost again here, been with them for 3 or 4 years, always been very helpful when I've contacted them and the prices have always seemed very good.
