Had to do it.

I bought some M3 Replicas for my 120d as i think they suit the car very well.

Got them yesterday, had to take my mate and his bird to Brum airport so thought i'd give it a valet this morning.

Now i know a lot of you fellas have jumped on the "we hate 1 series" bandwagon, but quite frankly i couldnt give a rats ass.

I love it, it's my car and suits me and my family to a tee.:D

Just thought i'd share some shiny pics with you - excuse the quality it's from the cam phone.

Cheers fellas,

I kept the BMW theme and didnt really like any of the "aftermarket" wheels.

Size are 225-40-18.

Ones i had on before these were:

Ive sold these this morning - the guy has just been to pick them up.

Fellow member of www.babybmw.net forum :D

Im well pleased with them - ive just installed a denison icelink FM and the "M" Sport wheel with multi-function and "M" sport gear-nob.

Isnt buying replicas just the same as buying snide designer clothing? :D

j/k looks nice tbh.

LOL, i wouldve bought the genuine ones but the offset is wrong for the rears.

Seeing as i like the design for the car then i think ive made the right choice.

Freefaller, cheers mate - youve seen the car in the flesh, tbh these pics don't do it justice.

Im chuffed to bits.

6th, Thought i'd not seen you for a while on there.

I cant see a reason for buying a 163bhp car with gob fulls of torque and driving it like a vicar.

Ohhhh, more tea?

Giddy, i did consider the CSL's but they're just a laquered silver paint finish - i wanted something that stood out and gave it a bit more class.

I love the design of the CSL's though.

NickXX

I can get a remap for £595+ the dreaded which gives it a solid 207bhp and lets it whip a Type-R's ass.

Not 100% if i should get it though with it still being under warranty.

buy 4 fronts then. thats what you need to do on an e36 due to the wider rears :/
still, the reps are cheap, tho im sure they are a few kg heavier.

look excellent on your car :]

I did think about that Morba, thing is - the cost outweighs the benefits in having the genuine article - which, for all intents and purposes look exactly the same.

Even all the ones on fleabay needed some sort of renovation or new tyre re-fitment.

This way, ive got a brand new set with brand new tyres.

Many thanks for the compliments fellas, tbh i wasnt expecting them ;)

I like these, i just wouldnt have one for my money.

Wheels looks nice mate, definite improvement on standard.

Thanks mate :D

It was a hard choice between the Golf, Audi, and the BMW.

It won purely on it's looks which i happen to love - over and above the Golf/Audi.

I absolutely love it, and a bonus is-the missus does too :D

Chet, cheers mate.

lordrobs, the originals looked ace on the car - i just wanted something....a little different than the "norm".

These will actually be more practical as the graphite insets will hide the brakedust nicely (unlike the originals).

I had a right job cleaning the originals up for the guy who bought them, used 1/3 of a bottle of wonder wheels.

Looks great. I can see what lordrobs means, but I think it just gets away with it.

I don't think many would say the 1 series isn't a nice car, just rather bloody expensive..

Thanks andi,

I can see what lordrobs means too - but i really am pleased with the way it's changed the look of the car.

The 1 series is expensive when specced up, but even coming up to a year of ownership it doesnt fail to stick a big grin on my face.:D

Hi there

Certainly an improvement but your brakes look lost now, guess that means you gotta do the remap as that then gives you a reason to fit bigger brakes all round too. ;) :D

Awwwww dont start me off mate.

X-drilled dustbin lids arent on the cards for a while as im under a 5 year maintainence package and tbh i'll probably have a new one by then.

I'd love to get the re-map.....207bhp from my little 2.0L diesel sounds like the recipe for fun, especially as the torque figures are through the roof compared to the stock ones.

I'm going to have to stick to stock bhp for the time being. :p
