Hi all

Me and the missus are looking for a new Wi-Fi adapter to get better speeds.... Not wanting to spend mad money but something that will be better than our current dongle..

Current dongle is a TP-Link 600Mbps USB that cost us £10

Any recommendations please

WiFi AC pci card with an external antenna would be my recommendation.

Although I had a right mare getting my Asus one working, although now it is working it's a very solid upgrade over my old tp link wireless N dongle.

What standard is your current dongle? Your router would need to be AC compatible too, if upgrading from N.

What router/access point do you have?

Might not be much point getting a faster dongle if your router can't keep up!

Also what OS and a rough budget? Decent (read well supported with stable drivers and an external antennae) doesn’t have to be expensive, but knowing things like you live in an old stone built cottage with 3ft thick external walls and this has to manage to go through one of them because it’s an extension are relevant (this point is based on a previous conversation with someone else).
