Is anybody with a Samsung 990 Pro seeing the 7B2QJXD7 firmware update yet? I'm seeing it for my 2 TB drive and a 1 TB drive with heatsink in another machine.

I updated the 1 TB drive and all appears well. I'll give it a few days before updating mine.

This came up the other day for me, three drives updated, I tried to get a quick Google on this update, thought I had seen it related to the Windows issue but didn't get the time to dig or see the actual benefits of the update.

I updated a 4TB and 2TB 990 Pro to the latest firmware, no issues so far. If the theory of overheating has any truth then I'm glad I went overkill with Thermalright HR-09 Pro heatsinks. During a full disk scan my 4TB drive reached a max temp of 43c, and my 2TB drive (at the bottom of the motherboard with airflow from case fans) reached 33c.

This showed up on mine but froze when trying to update.. Then my rig started playing up.. I've ordered another 990 and I'll clone my OS one tomorrow and see if I can get it back up and running

Had my 1TB Gigabyte nvme drive start disappearing and that's my boot drive which isn't great! Am away at the moment but will need to look into BIOS updates and maybe firmware for the drive to see if that'll fix it.

No issue with my 4TB SN850x as yet though.

Am on an AMD system - 5800x3D.

I've seen these programs that apparently scan all of your hardware and automatically checks for firmware updates, are they any good and worth looking at to help mitigate Windows Update issues?

I can't imagine it is worth it, only SSD and BIOS that needs updating and that's easy enough to check.

I updated my Samsung 990 Pro to the latest 7B2QJXD7 firmware. While I can't tell any difference, I can't report any problems either. So it's a good firmware to me.
