New Windscreen

Anyone know of any good companys for new windscreens, i went to my car yesterday to find a chip/crack about a 20p size with white gunk around it. I was told its a heat reflective screen because of the air con and prob more expensive then other windscreens.

Have you spoken to your insurer? Do you have windscreen cover?

On a Vectra? If it's a special type, would not be at all surpised it you're looking at over £500. The one on the VX/Elise is £1,300 and that's just plain glass!

its for a 2001 citroen xsara

I repaced mine two years ago. I phoned RAC windscreens first and they gave me a quote for £350 but said a local branch would phone me back.

I spent the next hour phoning around all the local places, got it down to £130. Then a local RAC phoned me back, and they did it for £110.

So basically the RAC will charge your insurance company £350 to do it, but its its a for just a person, then they will be very competitive. And we wonder why insurance costs so much :rolleyes:
