I'm currently using a Linksys WAG54G v1.2. The router has been good and worked well for the setup I had been using. I recently moved house and rather than just connect to the router using a network cable, I am making use of the wireless connection that it has. This is due to the router being in a different room to the computer.

The wireless connection dies on me quite regularly and the only way to reconnect is to reboot the router which is frustrating.

I think it may need replacing but I hear so many conflicting stories of what is good and bad. I'm using ADSL up to 8Mbit over the BT telephone line. My ISP is Zen. The two wireless cards we have are Linksys PCI cards purchased from OC about 3 weeks ago, (Linksys WMP54GS 54Mbps SpeedBooster Wireless Desktop PCI Network Adapter).

So does anyone have any suggestion on what equipment I should buy? My budget is certainly no more than £100. Stability of the connection is more important to me than speed I think.

Following up, I got a 2700HGV today and unlocked it. Just got it working - now half my road can get my wireless network! I just walked up the street with my laptop and got a good 100-150m from my house before it started to die. And it was only £5.

Sorry does this mean it can't be password protected or it's signal strength is really good?

I'm looking at getting one:)

Signal is really good :)

As for passwords, I haven't managed to get the WPA mode to work - nothing will connect to it - but it works just fine on WEP if you can tolerate that.
