Hi all,

I am about to do a new build with the spec below;
  • Asus Z9PE-D8 WS Dual Socket Motherboard
  • 2x Intel Xeon E5-2630v2 2.60GHz
  • Kingston HyperX Beast 32GB
  • Gigabyte GeForce GTX 760 4gb
  • 2 x Samsung 120GB SSD 840 EVO in Raid 0
  • 2 x Seagate Barracuda 2TB SATA 6Gb/s 64MB Cache in Raid 1.
  • Re-use existing Be Quiet Dark Power Pro P9 650W Modular PSU
  • Lian PC-D600 or Arc XL Case
I want it to run as quietly as possible so I am presuming I should water cool of which I have no previous experience. There is a lot of choice and I am rather confused!

I see three options;
Out of the box
2x Corsair Hydro H90 140mm (larger fans quieter?) or OCUK Tech Labs Fathom All in One
1x GPU cooler to be decided. Kraken NZXT G10?

Bespoke
Bespoke build from separate components; but which pump/blocks/res/rads?
I am thinking Laing D5 perhaps, EK for the rest? As for fans I am overwhelmed by the choice and have no idea where to start. How does one control/monitor the fan speed? Can you attenuate them to run slower and therefore quieter.

An alternative approach
Is the Aqua Computer Aquaduct a good option?
I would really appreciate any thoughts/suggestions/advice.

Thanks, Ian

The main issue of sound is going to be your fans. As you're not overclocking, temperatures wont really warrant watercooling, so anything from Noctua or BeQuiet will do the job.

Go air, cheaper and silent at stock temperatures.

If you want the most silent WCing build, a large external radiator like a 1080, a D5 vario/tube res and the appropriate EK blocks would work but would cost probably an order of magnitude more.
