Hi
I am just setting up a new system, which was all going fine until I installed the drivers for my ATI Sapphire X800 GTO 512mb card.

I downloaded the latest Catalyst pack (2 downloads incl .Net) and installed.
This was on a fresh install of Windows XP Pro x64. And yes, I downloaded and installed the x64 drivers.

Anyway, upon reboot after the driver install, the boot up gets just past the Windows XP x64 logo and then the screen goes blank.
Thing is, the system is still running because I can log in blind and hear the start up chimes, so it is logging me in ok.

I can restart and F8 and use Enable VGA Mode and then it works fine at 640 x 480.
If I try and change the display settings then the screnn goes blank again...

So I am sure it must be the ATI drivers.

Maybe someone knows about this as a problem? I've been through the FAQ's and can't find anything specific like this.

Rest of the system is:
Asus A8N-Sli SE
AMD X2 3800+
Maxtor Diamondmax 160Gb
NEC 4551A DVD RW
Creative Live! Sound

I have flashed the Asus with latest firmware and x64 drivers, and also ran the AMD CPU x64 update.

Pleeeeeease Helllllllpp !! :( :( :(

Ok, problem solved..................

I had to put the monitor cable in the standard socket on the graphics card and not in the DVI socket... simple...

It just puzzles me as to why I can't use the DVI socket..?
