Looking at pulling the trigger on 5820k build, seeing as its on weekly offer + Intel cash back. So far I'm looking at the following:

Intel 5820K 3.30GHz (Haswell-E) Socket LGA2011-V3 Processor - Retail
Gigabyte X99 SOC Champion Intel X99
Kingston Predator 16GB (4x4GB) DDR4 PC4-21300C13 2666MHz

Main question is the RAM, would it be worth the extra cost by going for 3000MHz? Or maybe other manufacturer?
What CPU cooler would one recommend for good OC? Would something like H110i GT handle the temps?

Any helpful input would be grateful! ty

That Kingston RAM is nice, good speed+timings.

You can get some lovely Gskill 3000MHz for £10 more - https://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=MY-099-GS&groupid=701&catid=8&subcat=2557

As for the cooler that depends on the case, you will certainly want a slim air cooler or a water cooler to clear most RAM modules, especially the tall ones like the Kingston Predator, I use a H110i GT on a SOC champion and a 5960X and it copes well even with a healthy overclock.
