Hello all!
The spec idea for my new build is starting to come together.
Please tell me what you think, or if you see any obvious problems!

CPU - i7 5820K
Mobo - ASRock X99 Extreme6
Cooler - Noctua NH-D15S
RAM - Crucial 32GB (4x8GB) DDR4 PC4-17000C16 2133MHz Quad Channel Kit
GPU - MSI Geforce GTX 980ti Gaming 6gb
Storage - 3 x Samsung 850 EVO 500gb SSD's
Optical - BluRay Writer (Don't know which yet)
PSU - 750w (Don't know which yet, but minimum Gold efficiency)
Case - Fractal Design Define R5
Monitor - Still deciding! The IPS lottery is terrifying, but probably the Asus MG279Q.

What do you think?
The RAM there is one of the most basic DDR4 flavours, but I don't think I really need anything fancier right?
Also, I know that particular monitor is a Freesync so maybe it's crazy to combine it with an NVidia card. But putting freesync out of the equation, it's still on of the best and quickest IPS panels out there for the price.

Any thoughts, comments or criticisms would be most welcome!!

Thanks

Always been happy with air and Noctua coolers in particular.
I won't be doing any crazy overclocking so I reckon this will be fine.
What do you think of the rest of the build?

And as for the Mobo! Hehe! That part of my research took the longest! And everything I read suggested that, for X99, an ASRock board is most likely to work out of the box.

may be go for atleast 850w or may be 1000w psu, in case you ever want to buy another 980ti and sli it ;)

Ooh really?
Good to know thanks.
I doubt I'll ever go SLI although never say never; but I did some of those wattage calculater things when you enter your components and it tells you what you need, and it suggested that even 650w would probably be sufficient.
Hmmm.
Anything else you can think of when looking at my proposed build?

Definitely 650W/750W fits this build if you have no intention to add another card. Rest of it looks good to me but I don't have a real experience with x99 builds. hopefully others can chip in and add something useful. :)

Thanks for the feedback everyone!
That RAM I mentioned is pretty much the most cheap and basic DDR4 there is. Do you foresee any problem with this? Surely I don't need anything fancy right? But will it be reliable?
I'll be using this rig mainly for music production and I've been told speed of RAM is not so important in that context.
Thoughts welcome! :)

Just to go over an issue briefly mentioned earlier in this thread... Do you think a 750w PSU would be sufficient for this build?
The various power use calculator websites suggest so.
I know if I ever want to SLI in future I'll need more power, but for now do you reckon this is ok? Or is it cutting it a bit fine?

Are you every planning to try SLI/Crossfire?

If so get the 5930K, if not, stick with the CPU you spec'd up.

I very much doubt I'll try SLI. If I ever did, I'd still be happy with the second card being x8 rather than x16. And I'd definitely never go for 3 way SLI. So for me, the 5930K isn't worth the extra dough.
