New Xbox 360, 1 month gold ??

Hello,

I have just picked up a new xbox 360 elite for £159

I have recovered my old gamer tag and got the xbox setup, but it says i am silver membership ??

I was under the impression with a new xbox you get 1 month gold xbox live for free ??

I have had a xbox before and used the 1 month gold way back in 2005 when i first got a xbox360 does this affact it ??

You only get the free month when you create a new gamertag on the xbox

It still say xbox silver on my profile though :confused:

but was able to play bad company 2 online so :confused:

Trial codes leave you on silver so that you cant pop in a 48hr trial and download 'gold exclusive' downloads which pop up from time to time.

I'm also a new guy on xbox, having had one in 2005/06. I just created a new gamertag to get a free month. I used xboxlivecodes (I think it was them) to get 12 months live for £26.99. stuff paying £40.
