The front of the box makes no mention of the HDMI cable being included just the standard premium accesories + lost planet, a collecters disk and a live trial.

I think the text showing HDMI is to do with optional accesories (but don't quote me on that)

It says something along the lines of "includes 1 hdmi cable". (I'm crap at Jap :p).

Don't think it does, Soulja's PS3 turned up today and he is asking where in Doncaster you can get a HDMI cable.
If Soulja gets this XBOX360 package, he can get his hands on one ;).

Yep my spoken Japanese is passable but reading it is a whole new kettle of fish (and the word includes rarely pops up in what I have done tbh)

i'd wager its optional accessories (which is still good for MS to be thinking of releasing a HDMI accessory) My reasoning has nothing to do with japanese, but more to do with the (1) in brackets, and the factit mentions 2.4GHz (wireless adapter?) below, without the (1). The (1) might be a footnote for "only available in Europe" for eg (yeah, right ;) )

who knows for sure.

Why are people so bothered about an HDMI cable?

it's highly unlikely the resulting picture will be any better than component.

I have 1 component and 2 HDMI on my tv, I'd rather get a HDMI cable so it frees the component up for something else, plus the HDMI cable will carry the 5.1 sound aswell.

Most people only have one HDMI port though and far fewer have HDMI amps. Can't see it being of any note for most people though I expect some would jump at it thinking they'd get better picture quality.

Plus you should be able to get your HD-DVD movies at 1080p with a HDMI cable?? It's not going to happen with component.

indeed. A lot more TVs have HDMI than component, and its just a "nicer" connection. Fewer cables, more kit available for it and its digital.
