just spoken to one of my friends and he said M$ are brings out a new xbox console at the end of this year. Anyone know if this is true?

Very much doubt a new console at the end of the year. More likely to be around 2011 maybe later, maybe a bit earlier, but definitely not this year.

Only thing they'll be doing is releasing the updated versions (Jasper Elites etc) and maybe some more limited editions (seeing as Sony are rumoured to be releasing an updated PS3 with a smaller chip and probable price cuts too).

E3 2010, new xbox system announcement.

I wonder what it'll be called? The only reason they called it 360 was to stick a 3 in there. They couldn't have called it xbox 2 when there was another system with a 3 at the end of it.

I hope they don't announce a new console just yet...the 360 still has so much to give, and it's only just over 3 years old.

I wish Microsoft would take a leaf out of Sony's book when it comes to the longevity of their consoles. They killed the original xbox too early in my opinion.

They had good reason for that though, I expect the 360 will be supported a lot longer than the original Xbox was.

I wouldn't expect a replacement for the 360 for a long time... another 3 years at least. The 360 does everything great.

The last thing I want is MS to rush out another console. I want them to actually check the thing works from day 1 this time. I suggest they hire an engine test bed so they can fire wind, rain, heat, snow and frozen chickens at it to check it holds together.

LOL! I can imagine that!
