New xbox console at the end of this year?

Well it's a lot simpler not to have multiple consoles. I sold my Xbox as soon as I got a 360.

Read about it last year, apparently it was called codename Pheonix and was set for 2010-11. I also heard however it was effectively shut down with the Job cuts that took place earlier this year.

My fear is that the 360 and PS3 are the last gamers consoles, after which everything will be wiified for the masses.

The wii started out very promising but once the developers realised that they didnt have to do anything than launch a kids game with easy controls to shift loads of units, the good games dried up. Thats what worries me about the next gen.

No backward compatibility on the next next gen consoles = Major failure.
