New XBOX One S - Errors with disc reading

Hey guys,

I have just taken delivery of my new XBOX One S the other day, and today I have tried two pristine games (not a mark on them), Ashes Cricket and Battlefield 1..

But a little into the installs, they stop and say, to clean disc or check for damage, which there isn't?

Is my new console goosed? Is it worth trying a lens cleaner or just get back onto the retailer when they open next week sometime :mad:

Done a hard reset, installed Ashes Cricket no problem, tried BF1 again, wouldn't load :confused:

Put in Ghost Recon Wildlands, and so far about 42% in and no problem..

Is it possible the disc is bad even though it looks tip top?

If the disk looks tip top i would try and get a replacement console, unless you can test the game on another xbox?

Yeah, I think your right, I cannot get access to another console for testing

but I just watched DVD there, and works without any indication of an issue, weird!

I would pop into a local Game and ask if they can try the disc in one of their consoles instore.

Hey guys,

I have had ANOTHER replacement sent out to me, its immaculate (again!) and still doesn't want to play ball! :mad:

Every other game/DVD/blu ray I have tried is fine for loading and functioning?? I think im going to buy a copy from the shops new and see where I stand..

@malachi would they do that? I might try, no harm in asking I suppose..

Sounds like the game is a dud (as in non functional, we already know BF1 is dross
