new xbox user needs guidance

So yesterday i packed up my nintendo Wii, whacked it on the bay and went out to buy myself a 360

thoroughly enjoying playing with all my mates on live, feel bad for slating consoles all this time (PCs are still better though :D)

but.... obviously its been out for a long time now so i need to catch up on what ive missed out on, what games can you lot recommend? at the moment ive only got halo 3

i watched a mate play dead rising once which looked like great fun, is it worth the buy?

Yeah, You can pick up dead rising REALLY cheap now.

I recommend Mass Effect, The Darkness and Eternal Sonata.

Also the new Devil May cry game is looking very good from the Demo.

That list but sub out Dead Boring for Rainbow 6 vegas. Only buy Mass Boredom if you like your stories with the depth of eastenders.

Graw 2 is worth a look if you can get it cheap enough and it's still huge online.

Oh and you would be fool not to buy Guitar Hero one of the greatest games ever made :D
 
I recommend Ranbow Six Vegas, cracking game.

Also the Orange box set as it comes with Team Fortress which is fantastic online!
 
got vegas, cod4, orange box, gow all on the pc so no worries with them

in the space of time of posting this thread and this post ive gone out bought dead rising and come back :D im dangerous living this close to shops, surprised ive any money at all :p

PGR3 can be picked up for next to nothing and is still very good
Amped3 is a good laugh if you like snowboarding/LSD ;)
Guitar Hero3 is a must
Tomb Raider Legends can be picked up for under £20 and is good
Lego star wars of course.

^ ah yes i will be getting GH3 soon as ive got a bit more money, a lot of my mates play that game religously lol

Edit: Mass Effect if you like RPG's. While I did find it very impressive, I simply didn't have the time available to dedicate to it.
 
dead rising and rainbow six vegas were my staple diet for about 6 months
r6v multiplayer is good [it has a few faults] only problem is that everyone it elite on it now so you are best waiting for the sequel in march where nobody will have an advantage of knowing the new maps

dead rising is a great game - it takes a while to get into and get used to but it is really satisfying in the end
worth it for how much you can get it for

if you can rent gears or get it cheap second hand i reccomend that because its not all its cracked up to be [here come the flames]

i enjoyed halo 3 but it is nowhere near as good as cod4

splinter cell double agent is a really involviong game
it should be cheap now too

then you have bioshock etc

so i guess you may be best off checking your friedns lists and see who is playing what - ask them for their opinion!

My advice; use your month free Live Gold membership, get yourself on Marketplace and download a load of Demo's ;)

I've only had my 360 for a few weeks and have: Halo 3, CoD 4 and Assassins Creed.
The top 3 Games in my opinion (not even played AC yet tho) :)
