I have just built a new budget machine, with an AMD 4000 x2 CPU, 2GB DDR2, and a Foxconn nForce 650 motherboard.
Everything has installed and is lightning quick, apart from the startup. The Windows XP splash screen is very slow, about 45-60 seconds it takes to get past it. Other than that the system is fine.
I've tried a repair install which hasn't solved the issue. I've googled around but again no joy, they are all on about performance tweaking etc, which is not the problem here.
Anyone know what is causing this and how to resolve? Any help would be appreciated.
TIA.
