Hullo everyone,

Not sure if anyone else uses Yahoo Mail but I do, and I am also a paying user (I like it to be ad free and not have a silly promotional stuff included in my emails). Anyway, I logged on this morning to see that they were offering participation in using the beta of the next version. I swiftly agreed.

Impressions so far are very good. Obviously this is one of those new fangled 'Web 2.0' applications and it looks very similar to Outlook 2003. There's a folder pane on the left but most of the screen is dedicated to an email pane and a reading pane so you can read mail in the same window.

There's also no need to refresh the page for new emails so my Yahoo Mail Firefox extension is almost useless now.

When replying to mail, full formatting options are available, which is nice.

If anyone else has the option of signing up for the beta, I reccomend that you do so.

Anyone know how I disable Yahoo! messenger in this? I can't seem to spot the setting and I don't want my pain-in-the-ass contacts bothering me at work while I'm skiving off.

At the top where it says your chat status (next to email address), click on the drop down arrow and sign yourself out of chat.

Is that what you were after?
