After a few edits & tweaks here & there, I think I've finally decided on what to get.
Haven't decided on a GPU yet, but probably an Nvidia of some kind, & already have a 3TB hard drive for mass storage.

Just going to wait till new year, then let the buying comence ! Hoping to pick the odd bit up on the MM if I'm lucky :D

Well after a few changes & a couple of bargains here & there here's what I've ended up with.

Corsair 650D case
i7 4770K Haswell
MSI Z87-G45 motherboard
Avexir 8GB DDR3 2133mhz (2*4GB)
HIS 270X turbo GPU
Western Digital 3TB hard drive
Crucial M500 240GB SSD
Benq GW2450HW monitor
BeQuiet 1000W PSU
Samuel 7 CPU heatsink
Noctua NF-12 120mm (CPU)
Windows 8.1
Liton Blu-ray/DVD
Various 120mm & 200mm fans
Logictech keyboard & mouse

Including a new desk it's come in at £1250. Happy with that, just got to see if I remember how to put a system together now !! :D

End of day one for the new build.

Still plenty to do, but no drama's yet !!
Not 100%on the CPU fan, may change it to the same as the exhaust one (SP-120)

Couple more, now the fun of installing everything!

Little update for everyone.
After a couple of days running the system at stock, time to see how well it would Overclock.

After a little fiddling I've got it stable at 4.5ghz 1.25v, Temps after looping a couple of benchmarks for an hour or two are low 70,s
GPU seem happy running 1130mhz core & 1500mhz memory, however for general gaming im running 1100/1450

I remember now why I got out of the desktop PC scene.....I was always broke ! :D
Latest little mods are moving the hard drive caddy into the 5.25 bay & covering the PSU cables at the bottom of the case which were rather unsightly.

Also, moved to an MSI 290 GPU after the 280x I brought failed after less than a week.

Seems like you change the CPU cooler fan as well to a corsair sp140/Sp120? I just ordered a couple of SP140s for my case, don't really need them but wanted to play with something LOL.

Looks good though

Yeah, I didn't like the look of the Noctura. Also got 2x of the SP120 in the top of the case as exhaust fans. There the quiet editions & I'm really impressed with them.
Keeps the Haswell under 70c @4.5GHZ
