Two big ones for me which I'm confident enough with to post about, and I never set myself NYRs really!
1:
Get shredded. Made a casual start in the middle of the year but am switching to a walking distance 24/7 gym now as driving 7 miles is tedious at best. Every day before work it's 30-60mins of bodyweight only training with Pull-ups, chin-ups, Australian pull and chin-ups each with all 3 grip types to work different areas of the body. Squats to finish. I have no wasted/excess body fat and have a very fast metabolic rate with no plans to body build. All this is to tone and maintain a high level of core strength. I also don't want my back to ever complain to me in later life as I've seen how this affects people around me at work who have potatoed their whole life and are now paying the price.
^ By the end of the year the chin up head banger is what I want to be able to do with ease.
2:
Focus on my portraits and weddings. Building a relationship with local outlets and borrowing their dresses for a day to shoot, then allow them to use the photos on their materials and social media. The dresses will be worn by a workmate and this would give me the opportunity to do a multitude of things at very little cost and gain free marketing in the process.
Ultimately a way to experiment with new techniques and styles, something which is not possible during a live job. In return, I'd be the recommended photographer from these outlets to couples who venture in after seeing those images. It's a bold step, but I want to end up being one of the most favoured wedding/portrait photographers on the South Coast over the next couple of years, but that won't ever happen unless I am proactive about it. This project is a win win for everybody involved.
