We got on the wrong train once and ended up at coney island... Proper happy accident
A walk across the Brooklyn Bridge was a must for us then Pizza from Best Pizza.
Top of the rock is better than the ESB but if your there might as well do it. The trade centre one though took my breath away.

Where did you stay in Greenpoint? When I stayed at my brothers I only remember one hotel just down the road, forgot the name of it now though.

The Box House Hotel, right at the top of Greenpoint near Pulaski Bridge.

I thought it was excellent value. Nice and relaxed pace to the immediate area and a short 10-min stroll to get to the East River Ferry and across to Manhattan.

We went to see the Blue Man Group in New York. Before the start of the show, there was a news ticker projecting onto the stage screen - birthday greetings etc. One of the shoutouts was for the audience to please welcome 'former Olympic curling Champion (my partner's name), who is in the audience today'. One of the staff had snuck up behind and asked her to stand up at that moment. She hadn't noticed the message and promptly did so, as the audience turned around to cheer her.

The place was packed and she hates attention, I've never seen someone look so mortified.

Ah thats it, I stayed at my brothers in the same street, more towards the other end where the mini market was.
Good location that to walk across the bridge and get the train or walk to the ferry point in Greenpoint like you said.

We normally got the ferry when we went to Manhattan.
